Drag the handle: the uploaded photo on the left, what the tool made on the right.

Your face, drawn the way you would want it on a screen. Avatar from a Selfie turns a single photo into a stylized head-and-shoulders portrait on a clean, simple background, sized for the places a small picture lives: a gaming handle, a chat app, a forum profile, a streaming channel, a team page or a newsletter byline. The likeness carries over, so friends recognize you at thumbnail size, but the rendering shifts to whatever style you pick, from glossy animated-film shading to flat vector shapes or chunky pixels. It works with any clear selfie and does not require a plain wall behind you, since the background is redrawn as part of the style.

Eight styles are on offer. 3D Cartoon gives the rounded, glossy look of a modern animated film and is the most widely liked default. Anime leans on large expressive eyes and clean linework. Flat Vector produces bold shapes with few gradients, ideal for icons and brand pages. Painterly has visible brush strokes and softer edges. Pixel Art builds you from a small grid of squares for retro or gaming spaces. Comic Book adds inked outlines and halftone shading. Claymation renders you as a hand-molded figure with fingerprints in the surface. Neon Glow wraps the portrait in electric light for streaming channels. Choose the one that matches where the avatar will sit.

Your avatar lands on the canvas ready to use, and the tools around it help it fit. Ask in words for a different shirt color or a plain white background, upscale it if it will be printed on a sticker or badge, or make a short looping video for an animated profile. Try It On and New Hairstyle work on the original selfie before you stylize it. An Avatar from a Selfie render costs 4 credits on Standard, 12 on Pro and 44 on Max. The 4 free credits granted at sign-up pay for one Standard avatar, with no card required to claim them.

About this tool

How is this different from Photo Cartoonizer or Photo to Anime?
Those tools restyle your whole photo, keeping its framing and background. Avatar from a Selfie is built for a profile picture: it recomposes to head and shoulders, replaces the background with something clean and simple, and offers eight styles tuned for small display. If you want the full scene kept, use one of the other two.
Can I use a photo where I am wearing glasses or a hat?
Yes. Glasses, hats, headphones and facial hair are treated as part of your look and carried into the chosen style, which often makes the avatar more recognizable. Sunglasses hide the eyes and can make the result less like you, so a photo with visible eyes gives the best likeness.
Do I need a selfie, or will a group photo work?
A photo of you alone is strongly recommended. When several faces are present the tool has to pick one, and it may not pick you. Crop a group picture down to your head and shoulders first, using Reframe & Expand, then upload that. A phone selfie taken at arm's length in daylight is the ideal input.
Does it work with photos of pets or kids?
It does. A pet photo produces a stylized animal avatar in the same styles, and children's faces are handled the same way as adults. Keep the same care you would with any picture of a child, and upload only photos you have the right to use. For pets, a clear front-facing shot gives the best result.
Can I try Avatar from a Selfie before paying?
Yes. A new account starts with 4 free credits, which covers your first Standard image with Avatar from a Selfie — no card required. After that, credits come from a monthly plan or a one-time pack.
