Face Swapper takes a face from one photo and places it onto a person in another, keeping the rest of the target photo as it was. Use it to put yourself into a movie-poster pose for a birthday card, swap faces between two friends for a joke, drop your own face onto a stock figure to preview a costume, or try a face on a mannequin picture before a product launch. The clothing, pose, background and lighting of the target photo do not change; only the face is replaced, and it is blended so the skin tone transition, head angle and light direction match. Use only photos of people who have agreed to be in the swap.
No settings are needed, because the two pictures carry all the information. The first image is the photo to change; the second holds the face to use. The tool locates the face in the target, maps the new face onto that head angle, matches its color to the neck and surrounding skin, and re-lights it so highlights and shadows follow the scene. When the swap arrives, press the Compare button to flip back and forth. Look at the jawline and hairline, where a blend can show, and check that the expression suits the body language. If the head in the target is turned sharply, a source face at a similar angle gives a cleaner result.
Because the swapped photo is a fresh image on the canvas, the usual moves apply. Edit with words to adjust the expression or fix a stray shadow, upscale it for a print, or make a short video clip that brings the scene to life. About this tool
- Will it keep the hair, body and background of the first photo?
- Yes. Only the face region is replaced. Hair, clothing, pose, hands, background and lighting all come from the photo you want to change. That means the person's hair color and style stay as they were, so if you want the source person's hair too, follow up with New Hairstyle.
- Why does the swapped face look slightly different from the source photo?
- Because the face is adapted to the target: it is turned to the target's head angle, lit by the target's light and matched to the surrounding skin. A face from a bright outdoor selfie will look darker and cooler when placed in a dim indoor scene. That adaptation is what stops the swap from looking pasted on.
- What should I upload for the face photo?
- A sharp, well-lit picture facing the camera or turned at a similar angle to the person in the target photo, with the whole face visible and no sunglasses. One face only; if several people appear, crop first. Higher resolution helps, and neutral or mild expressions blend more naturally than extreme ones.
- Which option should I pick for a group photo with several faces?
- There are no options to set, so the tool chooses the most prominent face in the target photo. To control which person is swapped, crop the target down to that person with Reframe & Expand, run the swap, then place the result back using Add Someone to a Photo, or ask Edit With Words to name the person to change.
