Drag the handle: the uploaded photo on the left, what the tool made on the right.

A breakout the morning of a job interview, a red patch from cold weather, a stray hair across the forehead: Face Cleanup handles the small stuff that gets between a good photo and a great profile picture. Upload the picture and the tool clears temporary blemishes, evens out skin tone, softens shadows under the eyes and adds a little brightness to the eyes themselves. Moles, freckles, scars and the natural texture of your skin remain where they are, because those are part of how you look. Use it on a résumé portrait, a dating profile, a graduation picture or the family album, and the person in the frame still reads as the same person on a good day.

There are no settings to choose here, and that is on purpose. The tool reads the photo and decides how much to do: light smoothing that keeps pores visible, spot removal limited to marks that would fade on their own, a gentle lift in exposure and contrast, and a small reduction in flyaway hair. Nothing is reshaped, no feature is resized, and makeup is not added. When the result lands on the canvas, press the Compare button to flip between the uploaded photo and the made one. Look at the cheeks, the area under the eyes and the hairline, since that is where the changes concentrate. If the pass feels too light or too heavy, run it again or follow up with a worded edit.

Your cleaned-up face is now a normal image on the canvas, so every next step is open. Type a short instruction to edit with words, for example to warm the light or crop tighter. Upscale it when you need a large print or a sharp avatar. Turn it into a short video clip for a story, or send it straight into another tool such as Smile Fixer or Background Blur. A Face Cleanup run costs 4 credits on Standard, 12 on Pro and 44 on Max. New accounts start with 4 free credits, which covers your first Standard result without a card, so you can judge the tool on your own face before buying anything.

About this tool

Do I need a close-up portrait, or does a full-body photo work?
Either works, but the face needs enough pixels for the tool to see pores, spots and shadows. A head-and-shoulders frame or a waist-up picture gives the cleanest result. In a full-body picture the face is small, so the changes are lighter and harder to judge; crop in first with Reframe & Expand if the skin is the point.
How is this different from Photo Polish?
Face Cleanup works on skin, eyes and stray hair on a person, and it deliberately ignores the rest of the frame. Photo Polish treats the whole picture: spots on the lens, white balance, exposure, detail across the scene. For a portrait with both problems, run Face Cleanup first and Photo Polish second.
Will it change my freckles, moles or scars?
Permanent features are kept on purpose. Freckles, moles, birthmarks and scars are treated as part of who you are, while pimples, small red patches and temporary marks are cleared. Should you want a specific mark gone as well, run the result through Edit With Words and describe that mark by its location.
What happens if there are several people in the picture?
Every visible face gets the same light pass: temporary blemishes cleared, skin tone evened, eyes brightened, flyaways reduced. Nobody is singled out, and no face is reshaped. Group portraits for a team page or a holiday card work fine; just check each person with the Compare button, since smaller faces receive gentler changes.
Can I try Face Cleanup before paying?
Yes. A new account starts with 4 free credits, which covers your first Standard image with Face Cleanup — no card required. After that, credits come from a monthly plan or a one-time pack.
