Flat overhead light is the most common flaw in a phone portrait, and Light Changer replaces it in one pass. The Lighting style menu holds 20 looks. Studio Soft Light, Natural Window Light and Butterfly Lighting are the safe choices for headshots and profile pictures because they flatter most faces. Rembrandt, Loop, Split, Broad and Short lighting are the classic portrait patterns, each placing the shadow on the face differently; try Rembrandt for a small triangle of light on the shadowed cheek. Studio Dramatic, Rim Lighting, Silhouette and Spotlight add contrast and mood. For atmosphere, pick Candlelight, Fire Glow, Fairy Lights, Neon Cyberpunk, Underwater or Northern Lights. Film Noir and Vintage Flash borrow from old cinema and snapshot cameras. Undecided? Run two looks and compare them side by side on the canvas.
Back on the canvas, the relit photo appears next to your original. From there you can edit it with words, for example asking for a warmer tone or a softer shadow, upscale it for a large print, or turn it into a short clip where the light seems to flicker. About this tool
- Which option should I pick for a professional profile picture?
- Start with Studio Soft Light or Natural Window Light. Both are even and flattering, with gentle shadows that keep skin texture believable. If you want a little more shape in the face, Loop Lighting or Butterfly Lighting add definition without drama. Save Rembrandt and Split for creative portraits where strong shadows are the point.
- Does it work with photos of objects and rooms, not just people?
- Yes. The tool reads the whole scene, so a product on a table gets new highlights and a contact shadow that match the chosen light, and a room picks up a new light direction through its windows. Candlelight and Fire Glow suit food and interiors; Spotlight and Studio Dramatic suit products on plain surfaces.
- What happens if the original photo already has strong shadows?
- The tool reworks them to fit the new pattern rather than stacking a second light on top. Hard midday shadows under the eyes soften under Studio Soft Light, and a side-lit face can be flipped to Short or Broad lighting. Very dark areas carry less information, so extreme relights of an underexposed photo may lose some detail.
