Flat lays are the language of Instagram grids, Etsy thumbnails and lifestyle blogs, and Flat Lay Maker composes one from a single product photo. Upload a candle, notebook, soap bar, skincare bottle or bag of coffee and the tool arranges it as the hero of a top-down composition on a textured surface, with complementary props placed around it and soft daylight from above. The product itself is untouched: shape, proportions, colors, materials, finish, label text, logos and artwork all come straight from your upload, and every object in the frame casts a realistic contact shadow.
Pick the Surface first. Linen gives a soft neutral cloth with gentle folds that flatters skincare, candles and stationery. Marble reads as bright and premium, a favorite for jewelry, cosmetics and baked goods. Wood brings warmth for food, coffee and handmade items. Concrete is cool and modern, good for tech accessories and grooming products, while Paper gives a flat matte ground with a graphic, minimal feel. About this tool
- Does it work with a photo of the product taken from the side?
- Side views work. The tool rebuilds the item as seen from above, using your photo as the reference for shape, color and label. A straight-on or slightly elevated angle gives it the most information, especially about the top surface and the label. If the top of the product carries important text, photograph that face.
- Is there a way to show more than one product in the flat lay?
- One uploaded product is the hero of each make. To include your other items, name them in the Props field, for example a matching lip balm and a travel tin, and they are styled as supporting pieces. For an exact reproduction of several products, run each separately and combine them with Edit With Words.
- Will it keep the colors of my packaging accurate?
- Color, finish and label artwork are carried over from your upload without recoloring, and the daylight in the scene is neutral so the packaging reads true. Your source photo matters most: photograph the item near a window rather than under a warm bulb so the reference itself shows accurate color.
- Which option should I pick for a food product?
- Wood is the natural fit for coffee, granola, jams and baked goods, adding warmth that reads as homemade. Marble suits pastries, chocolate and anything you want to feel refined. Add edible props in the Props field, such as scattered beans or a few berries, to tie the surface and the product together.
